Corrective Equity Coaching

There are times when we all miss the mark.

We speak out of anger or ignorance, and our words have a profound impact we did not intend. We take actions we’re not aware have bias baked into them, and those actions hurt others who don’t share our identities. We DON’T take action when we could have, and that inaction has consequences that impact the trust others place in us.

When an employee has caused harm, either through action or inaction, many forward-thinking leaders choose to invest in their learning so a painful experience can become a learning one. Optional (or mandatory) coaching with a neutral third party can help ensure that, in the future, this team member’s impact lines up with their intention, problematic language is no longer used, and they have the skills to restore and rebuild trust with their colleagues.

At Collaborate Consulting, we believe in leaving no one behind. That includes people who have inadvertently caused harm. Our Equity Coaching services help get things back on track, so everyone can do their job without experiencing bias or the fear that they’ve done or said something wrong.

Through uncompromising but caring coaching sessions, leaders can evolve their thinking so it meets the current cultural moment, see bias for what it is, and increase their ability to stay humble and present in times of tension.
