Jonathan Boland
Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Facilitator - Organizational Strategist
Jonathan Boland is a licensed clinical social worker, trauma consultant, and organizational strategist whose work lives at the intersection of personal healing and collective change. Whether supporting military leaders, LGBTQ+ activists, or corporate executives, Jonathan brings both depth and clarity to the task of helping people do their best work—because they feel safe, seen, and supported.
Jonathan’s clinical foundation is rooted in his time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Botswana, where he oversaw HIV-prevention programs, built leadership camps for teens on gender-based violence, and co-authored the country’s first educational guide on LGBT health and human rights. That experience ignited a career committed to community well-being, mental health access, and trauma-responsive care.
After earning dual master’s degrees from Columbia in Social Work and Public Health, Jonathan trained at top trauma centers in New York City and later served for six years as an active duty clinician and Director of Mental Health for the U.S. Navy. He provided more than 4,000 hours of psychotherapy to Marines, Sailors, and special forces personnel, specializing in PTSD, leadership stress, and moral injury. His work remains deeply informed by his experiences in high-pressure, high-stakes environments.
Jonathan has since translated those skills to corporate and nonprofit settings. He now works with executives and teams to identify psychological barriers to performance, address trauma within workplace culture, and build systems that support emotional resilience and sustainable success. He is especially skilled at guiding mission-driven professionals through burnout recovery and values-based recalibration.
As a Clinical Supervisor at the LA LGBT Center and an EMDRIA Consultant, Jonathan mentors a team of 14 clinicians and serves as a thought leader in trauma-informed care for LGBTQ+ communities. He partners with Collaborate Consulting to deliver trainings and workshops that transform workplaces into environments of psychological safety, inclusivity, and purpose-driven impact.
Whether in boardrooms, classrooms, or therapy rooms, Jonathan empowers others to find their clarity, confront their pain, and lead with integrity.
