Beyond Pink and Blue: Understanding Transgender Patient Communities

This interactive session starts with common phrases and terms used by the trans community. We then turn to an understanding of barriers faced by the trans community in health settings, and continue into an explanation of emerging concepts (such as non-binary, intersex, and gender-neutral pronouns). We will wrap up with concrete tools for allyship in clinical spaces, in addition to covering inclusive policy, EMR, and organization-wide actions.
