Thinking Fast: ADHD as a Superpower

Neurodiversity in the workplace is a hot topic right now. But how do professionals with ADHD navigate a world not meant for us? Learn how to unabashedly claim your neurodivergence and master concrete skills for leveraging the gifts that ADHD gives us!

We'll cover the following topics:

  • Naming and claiming an ADHD identity, combatting internalized shame and stigma

  • Identifying common patterns of the ADHD brain, to build solidarity and strength with other workshop attendees

  • Develop tools for self-advocacy in the workplace

  • Discuss useful hacks for navigating a neurotypical world

This session is brand-new content for the facilitator and is thus offered free of charge to all attendees. We hope that attendees will participate fully in the session, and will be willing to provide feedback in the post-workshop survey.

Trystan Reese was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, after a lifetime of feeling lazy, dysfunctional, and inadequate. He is a professional consultant on issues that aren't related to neurodivergence, but he spends most of his free time trying out new ways of harnessing and leveraging the strengths of his ADHD brain... and developing new tools that encourage the world to adjust to him, so he doesn't have to do so much extra work! When it comes to using medication to manage ADHD, Trystan supports those who do (as he does), those who don't, and those who use alternative or complementary medicine. This session will not use "disorder" framing when talking about ADHD or any other neurodivergent identities.
