Thanks for the Feedback: The Art of Giving and Receiving

Overview:

It’s not truly possible to grow personally or professionally without receiving feedback. Our intentions don’t always align with our impact, and we won’t know how our actions have been received if others aren’t able to tell us! But cultural differences, neurodivergence, power dynamics, and other very real issues get in the way of both giving and receiving feedback effectively. This engaging, interactive workshop equips participants with practical tools and strategies to give and receive feedback effectively, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and honesty.

Objectives:

Participants will:

  • Reflect on how cultural norms have shaped their approach to conflict and feedback.

  • Learn Brené Brown's "Clear is Kind" framework to reframe feedback as a positive, generative practice rather than a source of conflict.

  • Explore practical strategies to manage rejection sensitivity by normalizing frequent and constructive feedback exchanges.

  • Practice showing appreciation as both a giver and receiver of feedback, creating a foundation for deeper relationships and collaborative success.

Outcomes:

By the end of this session, participants will have gained practical tools to approach feedback with confidence, fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration within their organization.

Logistics:

• Duration: 1 hour, can be adjusted for a more in-depth exploration at 90 minutes

• Format: Interactive, discussion-based workshop

• Audience: Organizations of any type and size
